Dual Monitor Video Card

Having dual monitors installed with your computer setup is very beneficial especially if you’re using the computer on a daily basis and you have an array of applications opened at any given time. But in order to have two monitors working for you simultaneously, you will need to have a dual monitor video card, regardless if you’re using a laptop or a PC. Once you take the plunge and have two monitors working for you, then you’ll never want to go back to the old set up and you always wonder why most people choose to stick with only one measly screen.

Some computer and laptop models come with video cards which can support two monitors simultaneously. In order to check if your card has this ability do so by going into the Control Panel, then to Display and check the Settings and look to see if there are two monitor blocks visible. To get the best result, you should try to purchase a second monitor which has the same resolution as the initial one, as otherwise you’ll have difficulties by always having to adjust your eyes from one monitor to another.

If you’re a laptop user and one of the two monitors is represented by your laptop screen, then your installation will be very easy as most laptop models come with a dual monitor video card already and with a required monitor socket installed. If you’re a PC or a Mac user, then most likely you’ll have to purchase an adaptor as most single units come with only one monitor socket.

The average price of a dual monitor card starts at around $100 and increases with quality and performance abilities. Although it’s not really cheap, it’s definitely worth it for what it offers in the end. There even are special video cards for installing more than two monitors as some people require upwards of 3 screens to practice their activities accordingly. In order to install a dual monitor video card you first have to check and see if it’s compatible with your system. Of course, you should do so prior to making the purchase or otherwise you stand the chance of getting an incompatible device which will be useless to you.
